Ride Cancelled

Looking crappy enough going forward that the official ride is cancelled. I'm sick of looking out the window and doing nothing as I can't decide what I'm going to do tonight.

Fortunately I'm skipping the tour, having just ridden the Giro, and my program will have me refocus on the Vuelta so … you know. I can afford to take a day off here or there.

But that Gabhan guy … eesh. I worry about what's going to happen to HIS fitness.

  1. I’m still recovering from my fractured sacrum suffered at the Critérium du Dauphiné time trial in 2012 where I was blown off my bike by the dangerous 18 kmh gusts that the organizers should have known were extremely dangerous and called off the stage. My conditioning has been slowly improving to the point where I can now expect to finish an event I enter and have completed several races this year. I hope to continue to progress and finish more races if all goes well including the tour where I don’t expect to be a contender, but to continue to improve upon my overall fitness. And avoid reporters in elevator lobby’s after a few wobblies.

  2. I’m currently battling a ‘chest infection’ which Wiggins/Hesjedal/any_other_GC_guy gave me, so I can refocus on the Tour. Hoping to get the phlegm out at the Tour de Suisse and keep building fitness up until Ventoux, and then peak for the second ascent of Alpe d’Huez.
    That’s the plan anyway…
