Thursday July 18 ride

Ride is a go, rain *shouldn't* hit until at least 9PM.  Going to be another HOT one out there. If you are at all concerned about the heat, please use discretion.

That being said, freeze your waterbottles and take it easy out there. The B group will be taking it easy so as not to overheat.

  1. Ya no sprinting lol but lots of fast paced riding. I was hitting over 130 rpm on my junior gears in a position as aero as I could get. Hardcore is taking advantage of the fact that I’m short three gears.

  2. Im very surprised at Hardcore taking shots at us especially after deploying such underhanded tactics on that fast paced section leading up to the sign. Stefen was clearly going to power his way to the front when Hardcor pointed and yelled ‘hey I think Drew is flipping us the bird again’ as we turned our heads he proceeded to ride away from us pumping his fists in the air. That was pretty low man..

  3. Actually we weren’t sprinting for the sign, so I didn’t really win anything, as evidenced by the continued fast paced riding after the sign, it was just fast riding along that whole stretch after watsonberg.
yeah Stefen I agree it was painful!

  4. Now that’s hardcor..
It was nice to finally complete a ride with the same group I started with. I got 36 km/h from Grange to Arkell! Watson road was a lot of pain, and a lot of fun 🙂 I believe hardcory just edged me out on a photo finish at the Arkell blue sign sprint.

  5. I think our speed would’ve been a little faster if it weren’t for some of the guys and I am not going to mention any names in a public forum instead I will use aliases to protect their identities. Irish tattoo guy, Italian Rob as well as A-dam ex vegan were not pulling their fair share, sandbagging it on the back most of the ride, only to surge up a few hills, like that crap even matters!
It was pathetic behavior and afterwards Stefen was so shocked he asked me if the other three always rode so classless. I realized that these guys are good guys everyone, and didn’t want Stefen to think poorly of them so replied, Every dam ride!

  6. Thanks Hardcor/Cory… I actually rode back to see where Drew was, but he had changed the flat so fast, he was gone!
We did pick him up on Watson… where he then ‘surged’ to the Arkell sign… now who is the terrorist I ask? Not I….

  7. Strange we saw Drew riding alone south on Watson, didn’t look very happy as he flipped the bird and yelled “That’s for Gab-han Solo, always flying alone on attacks, Gab’in Solo always talking to his self! Gabin laden, terrorizing our rides!”

  8. Average speed Arkell-to-Arkell for the B group was 34.9, surprising we didn’t see you guys… (AHEM) waiting for Drew to fix a flat (AHEM)

  9. Nice ride tonight the first group finished together with an average of 35 and had great teamwork and equal sharing of turns by everyone…
And kudos to Stefen for lasting with the A group and even putting the hammer down near the end. Oh yeah I guess Adam may have done a little extra pulling…

  10. So, that rain disappeared… oh well. Kept it short and sweet, great ride.

  11. And when asked why he chose to follow Contador’s wheel, Froome was succinct. “No, you’re right,” he said. “I should probably have let him go up the road and take the yellow jersey.”

  12. Fair enough, route updated to 53kms

  13. Rain may hold off but it will close, if needed we maybe shorten the route a bit To make sure we have time?
