This week we will take some less frequently travelled roads to the south and west. The Petite Tour will pass through Freelton (unfortunately The Baker’s Corner will not be open yet, but it’s worth a visit another time), and then over to Hespeler and the Little Lake Market just after km 56 if a break is in order. The Grand Tour will make its way to Paris for fuel and a break at the Wincey Mills. There are two short sections of gravel on he west side of the Grand River, but I was out there the other day and the roads are in great shape. The Grand Tour isn’t a short route but should be good preparation for the Club Century that is coming soon. It will be a chilly start around 10c so dress appropriately. Bring money for the the coffee stops. Lights are always a good idea.
Load the route on your bike computer if you have one, here’s how.
Ride groups will be:
Name | Distance | Average Speed |
---|---|---|
Grand Tour | Longer Ride | 29-31 kph |
Petite Tour A | Medium Length Ride | 29-31 kph |
Petite Tour B | Medium Length Ride | 27-29 kph |
All group riders take it upon themselves to know the route and are responsible for their own safety.
