Welcome to the GCC Coached Gravel sessions!
Coached cycling sessions are instructed by qualified coaches and experienced athletes. The sessions are available exclusively for GCC members. Check here for weather cancellation posted no less than one hour before the ride begins.
Series Focus: These sessions are intended to prepare GCC members for P2A and upcoming gravel rides & events. The purpose of these sessions is to improve gravel riding skill and fitness.
Target Riders: Gravel Speed Groups G1 & G2.
Required Equipment: Gravel specific bike setup with drop bars, clipless pedals and appropriate tires.

Session #3 Details:
We’re in the midst of P2A prep and this week we’ll be shifting focus to our riding intensity and pacing efforts. Please make sure you have the route downloaded onto your device if possible, and review the sector map below.
- Ride as a group to the start of gravel sectors
- Ride gravel sectors at “effort”
- Start effort AFTER turning onto gravel sector
- Regroup at the end of gravel sectors and ride EASY between
- Safety first, stop at all STOP signs and BEFORE busy intersections even within intervals
Sectors (see full route link to download below via Ride with GPS):
- SECTOR 1: 4.4 km total (7.9-12.3 km) Start at beginning of Maryhill Rd after 16 Sd Rd turn, End at Halm Road x Lundy Road.
- SECTOR 2: 3 km total (14-17 km) Start NB on Cox Creek Road, End at Maryhill x Zuber Road corner.
- SECTOR 3: 4 km total (19.2-23.2 km) Start NB on Wollis Road, End at Weisenberg x Side Road 12 corner.
- SECTOR 4: 2.6 km total (26.9-29.5 km) Start at 12 Side Rd x Fourth Line E. AFTER turn onto 4th Line E, End at Side Rd 14 x Sixth Line E.

Bringing lights is always a good idea.
Special Note: From the Guelph Youth Music Centre to the starting point of this route is typically a ~17 minute pedal for G1 riders
