Thursday Cyclocross Coached Session – Charity Farm | Sept 4th, 6:00PM

Cross is HERE! Come join us for simultaneous youth/junior and adult coached cyclocross sessions at our new location! We have been very kindly invited to use the private CX venue where we have hosted BIG CX the past few years for all our sessions.

Check this post for weather cancellation posted no less than one hour before the ride begins.

ADDRESS OF NEW VENUE = 13233 First Line Nassagaweya. Click HERE for Google Maps coordinates.

PARKING = Parking is available on site. Enter from First Line and follow the laneway until it widens. Park on the left in the grass beside the lane before reaching the buildings. See the map below.

MEETING AREA = We’ll meet in the cleared field across the laneway from the parking area. See the map below.

GENERAL SESSION INFO: This coached session is intended for ALL GCC MEMBERS looking to gain skill and confidence for cyclocross riding.

We are offering a dedicated group for youth & junior riders (9-16 years old). Coached youth & junior cycling sessions are instructed by qualified coaches and experienced athletes. The sessions are available exclusively for youth & junior GCC members. Click to see program info.

We will also run an Adult group. These coached cycling sessions are part of a year-round, multidiscipline program available exclusively for GCC members. Click for more program info.

Both groups ride at 6PM and each will have instructors prepared to lead the session.

Minimum ability: riders should have the ability to ride on smooth, level terrain and control the bike safely (stopping and turning). Otherwise, the only requirement is a good attitude!

Equipment: A helmet and any bike in good working order. A CX bike is great but not required, a gravel bike or MTB will do just fine.

NIGHTLY SCHEDULE:

6:00PM – Intro & Warm-Up

Upon arrival meet at the start/finish area (yellow “X” on map below) for a friendly welcome and brief session intro. We’ll quickly begin riding the course. Go at your own pace and ride the loops you’re comfortable with.

6:15PM – Skills

We’ll regroup at the start/finish to begin our technical portion of the session.

6:40PM – Intervals

Get ready for some friendly, competitive intervals. Upping the intensity and taking our skills to the next level, we’ll ride the course at speed!
