Thursday June 24th: Thursday Night Ride 6:30pm

Update 5:55pm RIDE IS ON. Rain seems to be breaking up on its way towards us and everyone should be able to get home before it starts.

Time to get back into the swing of things, with our regular group offerings. As always these rides are for registered club members only. As I think everyone will have figured out by now, due to COVID sign-up is required for this ride, so go ahead and visit the sign up page to register.

As a refresher, Thursdays are made up of 3 groups and 2 routes. All groups leave from the East End library at 6:30 pm. When meeting in the parking lot, please remember to keep your distance and not block the library entrance. The first route is for those who feel the same as Ricky Bobby, and “Wanna go fast”, so they have a bit of a longer route. There is no upper speed limit for this group, but the lower limit is ~35km/h.

The remaining two groups will share the same slightly shorter route. The B group aims to stay together as a group for an average speed of ~32-35 km/h. This group may separate on hills etc. but efforts will be made to regroup and/or stay together. The C group will stay together for the entire ride and aim for a speed of 30-32 km/h.

With all that out of the way here are the routes: First the longer ride

And here is the slightly shorter route:

Weather is looking ideal as of now, but should rain work its way into the forecast, the go/no-go call will be made by 6pm latest.

Thursday A/B/C Aug 1st 630 pm

Well folks that its for July. The weather looks perfect for the 1st ride of August even if the light is starting to fade. The route tonight goes a little bit everywhere so please pay attention. The C riders will work together to keep a solid but steady pace, the B riders will go a little quicker but still work together, while the A group will be an all out shootout. If you have done the C before and what to try something a little quicker give the B ride a try and the C group will be there to catch you if you need it. The B/C will do the same route while the A group have a little extra.

THURSDAY JULY 11th|A, B/C RIDE|6:30PM

Let’s hope the weather cooperates tonight as we head out for a nice CCW rip down and east across SR15. We’ll head up around the Limehouse area before making our way back around the Acton Quarry then through Eden Mills and back to Arkell. The B/C’s will have a 64K route while the A’s get a couple of add-ons for 73K. If you’re thinking about jumping up a group, go for it. There’s always the B’s or C’s to pick you up for the finish.

Thursday June 27th A/B/C – 6:30 pm

Time to bring back a couple of old club staple roads that have fallen out of favour. We will head out north and visit the Hamlet of Everton, pop by Rockwood before coming home via the Watsonberg. As always the A group have a few other kms to try to have dinner make a second appearance (has happened this year but not on the A). If you find the C ride a touch on the slow side please give the B a try and the C group will be behind to catch you if you come off. We do have lots of light to play with so the route is pushed a little so lights are a great idea. Tomorrow is supposed to be a warm one so make sure to bring lots of water.

Thursday A/B/C Rides | May 2 @ 6:30pm

Note the changed start time to 6:30pm this week. This week the route will head east through Eden Mills and across SR25 to Dublin Line. The B/C groups will head back from Dublin Line while the A route will continue east for a loop around the Acton quarries then we all return across SR22/20/25 back to Arkell. I couldn’t figure out the start/end waypoints but the official end will be the church in Arkell as usual 🙂
