You’ll be home by lunch with this nice 76 km CCW Fergus, Elora, West Montrose and Maryhill loop with no Middlebrook boneshaker! Bring a little cash and we’ll stop in Elora for coffee and fancy ice cream (if anyone wants one). The weather is looking fantastic! Looking forward to seeing you.

Sunday Combined Ride – June 25th 2017

The Ride is on. However, we will shorten the route to avoid some rain that is predicted to hit at noon. We will remove the Bellfoutain section and loop through Erin instead. We will keep an eye on the radar on route and make seem real time decisions about possibly adding to the route based on updated weather info.

For those of you not doing the Tour de Guelph here is an alternative ride.  The actual distance back to our stoping point in Arkel is 97km.  We have the option to shorten or lengthen the route depending on what people want to do before or once we are out on the road.  No one will be asked to do a longer ride than they would wish to do.  Food stop in Bellfountain.

Medium Ride and Happy Mothers Day. We are Using the same route from the ride I led a few weeks ago, however, the gravel road section has been removed from the route do to the roughness of the road as a result of the ongoing construction. We will also pass the highest point in halton region; bring some Oxygen bottles! We will stop for drinks and food in Erin with a few other re-fueling points en-route if needed. The distance to our de facto end point in Arkell is 85km. We will be focusing on riding as a safe and cohesive group. Since there are some big rollers, we will allow folks to climb at their own pace on the big hills and then we will regroup at the tops of the hills. High Temp of 15 on the forecast, dress well since it will be much cooler than that when we start.

Sunday April 22 11:00 AM, Medium/Long Combined Ride

OK, This will be of Long/Medium combination ride of sorts. Those riders that want to add a few extra miles and some intensity can loop up to Bellwood Lake and then back down and rejoin the route. Perhaps if they are good enough; catch up with the main group. The distance to our de facto end point in Arkell is 80km. We will be focusing on riding as a cohesive group and polishing some of our rusty group riding skills.

Sunday Medium Ride | Aug 14th 9:00 AM

The corn is high and the peaches are ripe. It’s hot and humid and the cicadas are singing… August in Ontario.
Some things are quintessential, like this 76 km Fergus-Elora Sunday morning coffee loop. And we’ll be crossing the covered bridge at West Montrose (someone please open a cafe here!). EC is currently predicting 19 degrees at 9:00 AM with the LOP (likelihood of precipitation) being ‘Low’ and a light wind from the NW at 10 kph. After a cooler night’s rest this will be a great ride that gets you home in time for lunch.
See you soon!

Sunday May 1st Medium Ride CANCELLED

Ride Cancelled.
Rain, wet roads and cool, damp unpleasantness this morning. Looking more promising this afternoon for an unofficial ride.
This 70 km loop pleasantly meanders its way towards Hespler and through Puslinch. A brief snack and pee break will be accommodated at the Sunset Villa Restaurant in Crief – bring your own snack, I don’t think the restaurant will be open when we stop there.

Sunday Medium Ride | August 23rd, 9:00 am

OK, I am unable to successfully operate a calendar and will not be leading the ride due to a schedule conflict. The route is popular and very nice. Some brave soul will have to assume the responsibility of ride leader that I have failed to uphold. Maryhill, Crowsfoot, the covered bridge and Elora. We (y’all) will stop for refueling in Elora.

Sunday Medium Ride May 10th, 2015 9 AM Start

RIDE IS ON. There may be a very brief shower around 9:30, but at least it will be warm out. Bring a rain cape if you wish for the possible showers.

Sorry for the delay in getting the route up. We will head out north, then east though Oustic, then south through Everton, then east towards Acton then dip south and come back north through Eden Mills and then Back to Guelph. We will focus on rinding a smooth and efficient social pace-line. If we are all knackered by the time we get to Eden Mills we can cut out the climb on 1st line.
