GCC’s Jim Brogden presents the 2025 BIGMTB!
Jim has led the development of the Arkell Spring Grounds with fellow GCC and GORBA club members.
The Ride starts at GCC’s sponsor Flow State Bike Co. in Arkell.
These are ‘Ride Leader’ led rides.
There are three ride groups: Advanced, Intermediate and Casual.
Some group adjustments can be made at Flow State.
The Rides will include Arkell Spring Grounds, Smith Property and Guelph Lake totalling approximately 60km.
Start the ride off with a complimentary coffee at our sponsor Flow State Bike Co in Arkell.
There is a supported rest stop on the west side of Watson Rd just south of Stone.
Afterwards, riders will head to our sponsor Fixed Gear on Alma Rd. for refreshments and food.
Arkell Spring Grounds MTB Trails are on City of Guelph property and is reserved for members of GORBA and the Guelph Hiking Trail Club only. The city requires that you be covered by third party liability insurance to access these trails. You must be a GORBA member ($40) or buy a ‘Day Pass’ ($10) to ride the Arkell trails. A full membership contribution helps keep these trails open and maintained. A GORBA Membership is the cheapest part of mountain biking.
