The Long ride will be heading back to Forks of the credit but with some route changes to take in as many hills as possible with some new paved sections added. There will be a short amount of gravel on this route but as long as GC doesn’t attack it should be fine.
I have also added a note on the route regarding a fun downhill to uphill section on a side road I thought would make a great club hill climb that we can try if people are feeling frisky.
UPDATE: A few club members have expressed interest in a shorter route (hey Jeremy, hey Ann) so they’ll be doing the Mary-Fergus-Elora loop. This is an unofficial club ride (no ride leader) but should be just as fun.
Great ride. The off-road diversions only added to the experience!
Yeah it is a really fun ride, you have a steep fast descent then the road slowly starts going uphill so it is a matter of trying to carry your speed as the road changes gradient until the steep pitch at the end where you go all out, screaming in agony until you hit the gravel.
Usually at this point after a I open up a blue recovery drink and look out over the peaceful farming valley below me, reminiscing about days of my youth in the ST Lawrence Valley lowlands farming country. Then I micturate and head back down. Hope that made it clearer
Cory, tried to figure out this hill climb note you had, but didn’t quite follow. Do you mean turn north on onto 2nd line, continue up some hill, and then it just turns to gravel?
Thanks Andy, it was a nice day for a ride. My apologies about the route, I didn’t load the right file in my computer which lead to some extra cycling, and more gravel than I planned.
Cory
Nice route, Cory. The dirt sections were a nice touch, especially the second one. Beautiful day, too.
