Guelph Cycling Club & Royal City Multisport collaboration!
Royal City Multisport (RCM) will be offering coached cycling sessions for GCC members weekly on Thursdays throughout the year. You can subscribe monthly or yearly. These sessions include road rides at the Flamboro speedway, cyclocross in Guelph and virtually on Zwift. They will be offered in addition to our regular club rides.
This sounds great! How will it work and is it for everyone?
The Royal City Multisport collaboration supplements our current calendar without removing any existing rides. It is funded purely by members who subscribe to the sessions. You will however have the opportunity to attend some special events offered in collaboration with RCM, where any GCC member can try out the experience free of charge. Although available to all club members, there is no expectation that all members will take part in these sessions.
How is this expected to affect the club and rider turn out?
You will most likely see a few more RCM cyclists becoming our members, further growing our ranks at the faster end of the club. With RCM’s proven track record of developing skilled cyclists and flourishing pathways for youth and junior athletes, bringing both organizations together will benefit the whole community. We are really looking forward to the youth development in cycling this brings.
Who are the coached sessions for?
Anyone in the club that wants it! We do however expect riders in the R4-R1 groups to find them most appropriate. There are also Junior and Adult sessions available.
How much will they cost and how do I sign up?
Details are still being finalized. Registration will be handled through Royal City Multisport’s website and you will need to be a GCC member to attend.
I race (or plan to), what do I need to know about the racing team?
All GCC members can register for the GCC-Royal City Racing team through Ontario Cycling at no charge. If you already have your race license, are not affiliated with GCC-Royal City Racing and want to be, click the following link to send an email to OC: Please affiliate me with GCC-Royal City Racing.

When is the GCC-Royal City Racing kit going to be available?
Right here, right now until March 21st! Get it in time for the early season races!
When will the GCC Club Kit be available?
Just a little longer. We’re rushing the race apparel out to be ready for the spring races. But for club clothing, as usual, we’re waiting a little later into April to allow the most members to have access. This also ensures better pricing for everyone.
