Sunday September 22nd 2013

Last day of official summer and it looks to be a chilly one.  This is a resonably flat route. Daryl will continue riding at a Sunday ride pace when the world championships break out during the ride. Do not worry about having to kill yourself to keep up if you don’t want to, Daryl will roll with the “B” groupers.

Wed Sept 11th ride 6PM

4:30 update: The ride is officially cancelled (in case the weather remains bad), but it sounds like people may still show up at 6. The route has been updated to protect Jim's new bike from mud.

The last Wednesday ride of the year! Please keep an eye on the website (and your email if you're a member) for a year-end social coming up in November at the Albion.

SUN Sept 8th 9:00 am

Someone wise once said “go west son”, so as usual I’ll avoid the good advice and we’ll head east to Orangeville for a change of scenery. Even though we pass near the forks of the Credit we are not riding the long hill. I should mention the descent on Winston Churchill just before BelFountain is somewhat fast and twisty so keep that in mind on that section.

Sunday Sept 1st ride is a go!

Radar looks clear until at least 1:00 which will be lots of time for 105 km.

Going up to Grand Valley for a change of scenery, route is nice with some rolling hills as we go north then downhill on the way home.

Interesting fact for you weather/history buffs, in 1985 an f4 tornado hit Grand River destroying much of the towns infrastructure, however it has since been rebuilt and should be able to handle James making his usual “pitstop” at a local bathroom when we arrive. Just doing my part to add a little “backstory” to the places we visit.

Thursday August 29th Ride

Bringing back a longer route from a few weeks ago to take advantage of the early start.  A group and B group again and I will be riding with the B group.  Looking to keep pulls short to help move things along at a quick clip with the B’s without killing ourselves.

Tues. Hammerfest, Aug. 27th 6pm

Note: 6pm starting this week, for ALL weekday rides.

Update, Tues. 3:10pm: The radar is looking pretty bad right now, good chance ride will be cancelled. Will make call by 4pm.

Update 4pm: Ride officially cancelled, radar looking uncertain. If it's clear enough, I'll be riding and will swing by the meeting spot at 6pm to meet whoever still wants to ride.

Follow the profile below with your mouse to see the directions the route takes.

Thurs Aug 22 ride, 6:30

It looks like the rain should be finished by 4pm, so let's hope that holds up.  A and B groups again, numbers permitting.

Shorter route for this eve, this is the last weekday ride starting at 6:30, we'll be starting at 6 for the next three weeks.  After that, it's just Sunday rides.

Bring lights!
