For R1 & R2’s out-and-back to the SR 22 climb out of Limehouse, slow down and mind the rough surface, starting at 26km, on Third Line and a bit of Glen Lawson Road.

Note the start time is 6:00pm. Be sure to have lights, sunset will be 8:12PM.

Thursday Advanced Road Ride | August 8 6:30PM

This week we will head North and West for a change, thru Fergus, Elora, West Montrose, and home via Crowsfoot. The routes will officially end at Fixed Gear, so let the ride captain or leader know if you will make your own way from the edge of the city. We should all get home before sunset, but it will be very close, so charge up your lights for this one.

NOTE: Shaved 8km off this route to get home before sunset and made it just in time.

Since the nights are still pretty long, we’re going to stretch things out and hit Limehouse for a ride. The roads should be nice and clean after the washing that the remains of Hurricane Beryl gave them. We will be flirting with sunset, so make sure to bring lights!

A small change from our normal route through Rockwood: at the bottom of the Jolliffe Avenue hill go straight across Ridge Road to Dunbar Street and turn right. We can then use the lights to turn left onto hwy. 7.

The weather is looking good for this ride, but it’s early May so the start time will be 6:00PM sharp, that way we can have a decent ride and get home before sunset. There is a short bit of gravel east of 6th Line on Sideroad 20 so spread out a bit but don’t cross the line. The official end of the ride is in Arkel, as usual.

Even though sunset will be 8:23pm – Bringing lights is always a good idea.

Welcome to the inaugural Thursday road ride of the 2024 season! This ride will jog your memory of the last Thursday road ride of 2023, because we’re following mostly the same route! Last time, several people loaded the wrong route which resulted in some missed turns. I won’t name names (*cough cough* KEVINKOOLE *cough*) but make sure you get the right one!

Hopefully the weather holds out. It won’t be nearly as nice as Tuesday’s ride, but at least it won’t be raining!

It looks like we will have a clear weather window for tonights ride! There is a 30% chance of rain, increasing to 60% after 8:00pm, so I can’t promise you won’t get a little wet. Come prepared.
