Heading out to Everton than down to Rockwood and back into Guelph. Looking for an average speed of 31 or so for the B group. Weather looks perfect for an evening ride.

Wednesday July 8th ride | 6:30pm
Straightforward route heading up the back side of the ‘berg and Col de Watson, then coming back on Victoria to Maltby. Aiming to average ~28kph, and we’ll keep it all together. Head to the club’s monthly time trial tonight if you feel like pushing your limits!
Club Time Trial #3 – Wed. July 8/15
UPDATE: Results now posted below.
The third TT of our 4 event time trial series is this week, with first rider starting at 7:00pm!
Note the schedule for the final event in the series: August 19
Time trials are a great way to test your fitness. It is a race against yourself and the clock. Riders start at 1 minute intervals and the challenge is to try to catch the rider ahead of you and not to be caught by the rider behind you! No drafting is allowed.
We use the same course for each of the 4 TT events allowing you to measure your training progression throughout the season.
The course is a 17km long out-and-back route on the rolling hills of Fourth Line East just north of County Road 51 (road to Ariss)
TIPS
- maintain a steady power output and heart rate throughout the event
- have a smooth, regular pedalling technique
- position yourself to be extremely aerodynamic
- discipline yourself to operate just below your anaerobic threshold until near the end of the course.
REMINDER
- please exercise caution during the TT, especially at the turn around, as the roads are open and vehicles can be expected
- please remember that while waiting for your start to not obstruct traffic
- please remember to bring your club membership card.

Tuesday Hammerfest B / July 7 6:30
The clouds are breaking so the ride is on. Bring your lights. We are taking a short ride through town to go west before heading south through Hespeler. Only a few short hills to keep our legs fresh for tomorrow’s TT.
Tuesday A July 7th ride | 6:30pm
RIDE IS ON. Looks like the clouds are clearing nicely, but there’s a small risk of some light rain en route, definitely some wet roads. Bring your blinkies just in case.
Best of luck as well to those club members racing the Pan Am triathlon this weekend! Women on Saturday, men on Sunday, both 8:30am. Smash it!
Sunday A/B Ride: July 5, 9am
With the Tour de Guelph tomorrow, there will just be the one group on the ride tomorrow (A & B groups effectively combined):
Thursday A/B rides | July 2nd, 6:30 pm
Thursday ride heading out for the 6th line climb. Hopefully no or minimal chip seal!
Wednesday July 1st ride | 6:30pm
Happy Canada Day! The usual Wednesday ride will still be rolling out, Meg will be filling in for Lorenz as ride leader. Look to the form for any other non-club rides as well.
Tuesday Hammerfest B | June 30 6:30pm
RIDE IS ON! Radar indicates we are good for the evening. We can cut the route short if need be. Remember your lights!
Tues. A Hammerfest: June 30th 6:30pm
5pm – Ride is on. NOTE THE ROUTE CHANGE.
Since weather is so iffy tonight, Guelph lake loops to allow for cutting short at any time. 8pm looking like raintime.
Sunday Long Ride to Dundas
Ride is cancelled. Radar shows rain continuing for the next few hours. Looks like things will clear later so enjoy a ride then.
Sunday June 28th medium ride | 9am
Ride cancelled due to rain.
Thursday A/B rides | June 25th, 6:30 pm
RIDE IS ON! Might be the odd scattered shower out there, but the radar looks mostly clear. Let’s ride bikes!
The classic Elora – Fergus loop, with a couple of slight deviations. We’ll take the run up Victoria single-file, as we will the brief stretch on 124.
Here’s what’s playing at The Gorge Cinema, should anyone care to break off early and make a night of it. (You’re welcome, GC)
Wednesday Ride – June 24
I just wanted to warn people that there is fresh chip seal on Arkell road between First Line and Puslinch (800 m). We’ll slow down and allow greater distance between riders.
We’ll go North and East this week for a nice hilly course.
Tues. A Hammerfest: June 23 – 6:30pm
Back to school. With a big climb at the furthest point, regrouping at the top with all those who start the climb together is encouraged, but then full beans on the way home.
Tuesday B: June 23rd, 6:30pm
This route was great the first time so lets get after it again (thanks James S.). Note: the “official” club ride will end at Victoria and Arkell.
