It’s the final week of weekday club rides for 2016 (but Sunday rides will continue in earnest). We’ll head southwest for this last Tuesday-B instalment in deference to the forecasted winds. Lights are a must, as we’ll be flirting with sunset by ride’s end.

Last of the weekday club rides, 6:00PM
September 6-7-8th club rides will be the last weekday rides of the season! Sunday rides will continue for quite a while though. Look to the forum, or email around if you’re looking for any unofficial rides from the library.
Sunday Sept. 4th long/medium rides | 9am
The weather looks nice for this long weekend, so let’s do some climbing! We’ll stop around half way at the Flying Monkey. Probably worth throwing the route into your computer, there are a bunch of turns on this one. We’ll combine the rides again, with a shorter option to either skip a climb or two, or head straight back after the Monkey stop.
Thursday Ride A/B | Sept 1, 6:00 pm
Lets try last week’s cancelled route. Updated to avoid the chip-seal, I hope I got around most of it! Daylight is getting sparse so lets all remember lights, fully charged or fresh batteries would be a good idea as well! Only two more Thursdays left in the season so lets make the most of the great weather before the inevitable appearance of winter sneaks in..
Wednesday Ride | Aug 31st 6PM
Second last Wednesday Ride of 2016! Earlier start.
I heard there was a Wednesday ride,
That Leonard mentioned and it gave me pride,
But you don’t believe in rhyming here, now do ya?
It goes like this: The fourth, the fifth,
A minor descent with a major lift,
Using both front rings compelling, “Hallelujah!”
Halleluja… (repeat)
Bring your lights! (apologies where necessary).
Tuesday B Ride, August 30, 6PM start
Pump your tyres and bring your lights. The ride starts at 6pm sharp and we are going to try to squeeze in as many km’s as we can.
Tuesday A August 30, 6:00 pm Hammerfest
Here’s the route. I may be in Montreal. Enjoy.
August 26th – Sunday Long and Medium Rides – 9am Start
It’s off to beautiful Belfountain for the long ride. Sunny skies, the wind at our backs, coffee halfway through. What better way to spend a Sunday morning? The Medium ride can perhaps cut down 9th line just before Erin for a great ride, with a stop in Erin if you like. I put this route below but you can decide on the morning what works best for the group as far as the distance people are comfortable doing.

Medium Ride
Thursday A/B Rides Aug. 25, 6:00pm
Ride Cancelled: this may clear up a little but more rain appears to be coming at 7:00pm. If you are determined to ride, north may be your best bet. Or you could just skip it and head to the Wooly for a nice refreshing pint. Looks like rain coming our way. A go/no-go call will be made by 5:00pm. If the ride goes ahead, there’s a slight adjustment. Instead of taking 2nd Line south, we will take 1st Line. Too much fresh chip seal on 2nd. I didn’t change the map so make a mental note of it. I will remind you. And I found a bike!! If I can find a bike, I will be there to lead the ride. Similar to Tuesday in case there are some unsettled scores. Note earlier start time. Don’t miss out!
Wednesday August 24th ride | 6PM
Note the earlier 6:00PM start! A nice route down Watson and back up Victoria. Bring lights just in case.
Club Time Trial #4 v2- Wed Aug 24/16
The weather is looking good for a 2nd attempt at TT #4 this Wednesday! First rider starts at 7pm.
Same time, location, route, and details as last week. See this link for the particulars.
Rumor has it Leslie Dart will be making an appearance 🙂
Tuesday A Hammerfest, August 23 – 6:00 pm!!
Commit this route to memory, load it on a Garmin or tape it to the stem. It’s a tour of the southern roads, something a little different. Remember, we’re meeting at 6:00pm from now on.
6:00 PM START – Tues B Ride – Aug 23
Please note slight change in route. I added a few k’s. Dont forget we begin our rides at 6:00 pm as of Tuesday. This is a shorter route being we are quickly losing daylight. Heading south over the Col and then up 1st Line setting up for a quick run in to Arkel.
Sunday August 21st long and medium rides | 9am
Rides are on. Another combined ride for this Sunday, with the longer ride heading to Paris, while the shorter route will turn east just before Safari Rd.
Medium route:
August 18th Thursday A/B rides | 6:30pm
Again, a slightly shorter due to sunlight, hopefully the weather cooperates. A 57k loop up around Eden Mills, and then a new road (with a touch of gravel) to head back through Badenoch. Bring lights!
Aug 17th – Wednesday Ride – 6:30
RIDE CANCELLED DUE TO INCOMING RAIN. Another beautiful day out there! We’ll do a classic route through Eden Mills and over to Fourth Line. In the last few kilometers everyone can test their mettle on the Watsonberg climb after which we can regroup at the top and cruise in to Arkell. Please remember to stay to the right and no crossing of the yellow line.
