Wednesday Gravel, June 7th, 6:30pm

Ride is a go. *The Air Quality Index is high again today. It currently is between 4 and 5. If you are in the ‘at risk’ category, it’s probably a good idea to skip this one. If conditions deteriorate during the ride we will cut it short.

Another Wednesday gravel ride! More of a mixed-surface, if we’re being honest, as we can’t go exploring the far-away gravel if we want to be back before sundown.

Three speed groups. Load the route on your bike computer if you have one, here’s how.

Bringing lights is always a good idea.

Disclaimer: Depending on rider turn out, some speed groups may have to be combined.

The Speed Groups on this ride are:

G2 – Intermediate     23-25 km/h average

Sunday Gravel, 04/23, 11am

Well, it’s definitely not going to be as warm as last week! But this is an opportunity for a tune-up before P2A next weekend. Dress for the weather – it’s going to be 6 degrees at the start, but it’ll be sunny, at least!

This route is taking us northeast, then over through Fergus and Elora, before bringing us home via the G2G trail. We’ll stop in Elora for a coffee and a quick break..

Sunday Gravel Ride – Oct. 17, 11:00am

Weather is looking cool, and possibly rainy for this weekend. The ride start will officially be at 11:00am, to account for some warmer weather and hopefully to miss any rain that comes overnight. Dress appropriately and the worst that will happen is that you’ll have a cool story about an awesome adventure.

There will be a halfway stop at the Play-A-Latte Cafe in Kitchener (around kilometer 45). Be sure to bring cash or card and mask for that.

There are two groups: recreational and intermediate. Both use the same route at different paces. However, these groups may be combined depending on turnout. Check the schedule for complete details.

Recreational Gravel: 21-24 km/h average
Intermediate Gravel: 24-26 km/h average

Check back for weather cancellation posted no later than 9:00 AM.

Advance sign-up required. Click here: Sunday Gravel Rides. You will have to create an account on Signup.com

NEW Start time: Please be ready to pedal at 11:00 AM

Start location: The Guelph Youth Music Centre – GYMC

The route: We’re going to go on an urban-ish adventure along some trails that we’ve hit before, and some brand new stuff! Should be a great time!

Sunday 08/22 Road, 8:00am

As long as the rain holds off, it should be a great (but hot) day for riding bikes! We’ll go on an adventure to explore the Escarpment south of us, before returning up some familiar roads. Bring lots of water, as it’s going to be hot!

We have two options for stops: firstly at the very classy gas station/Tim Hortons on Tremaine Road at around the 50km mark, and secondly in Kilbride around the 70km mark (popsicle stop highly recommended at this point!).

Please sign-up for this ride HERE

This ride is open to SRCC club members only. If you aren’t already a member, you can sign up for the club at speedrivercyclingclub.org/join

2021 Rides Are Starting!

We are back! Rides start on Tuesday, June 22nd. We will be introducing our new Tuesday All-Members Ride (“The TAM Ride”) that evening, then working through our recently updated Weekly Ride Schedule from there on out.

If you haven’t already joined the club for this season, please do so HERE.

All participants in SRCC activities should follow the Ontario Cycling Association (OCA) Progressive Return to Cycling Guidelines and Return to Sport along with the latest Covid-19 safety recommendations from the Ontario Government, Ontario Public Health, local public health units and medical experts.

Please be sure to join SRCC and review our Group Ride Guidelines and Rider’s Responsibilities before your first club ride in 2021.

With the OCA’s Progressive Return to Sport guidelines, all club rides for this season will continue to need to have limited numbers, and all members will need to preregister for a ride before participating.

How to Sign Up for Group Rides

This year, SRCC will be using a central ride registration site. Members will need to signup for rides via the SRCC Signup Site.

Only those members who have signed up via the ride registration site will be able to participate in the scheduled club ride. When they’re full, they’re full! We will keep you up to date as we progress through the Steps of the Roadmap to Reopen.
