Thursday Intermediate Road Ride | August 10 6:30PM

Last time I told you I’d create a route that resembles a shape or a letter. I’ve changed that goal only slightly…you’ll be identifying shapes in the route; like you would if you were looking at the clouds.

So take a look, tell me what you find! You can keep it as your own secret, shout it to me on the ride or send me a note.

(If your creative brain isn’t working today, I’ll tell you I see a certain kind of sea creature)

Bringing lights is always a good idea.

Load the route on your bike computer if you have one, here’s how.

Disclaimer: Depending on rider turn out, some Speed Groups may have to be combined.

Cancelled, but we have another plan – read on Women Only Ride | July 26 6:30PM

Afraid there’s heavy rain moving in before 8PM, and we would get soaked.

However, since we’ve freed up our evenings, we can still get together for some beer and pizza. New location: Meg’s covered porch at 5 Queen St. Come anytime after 6:30PM. We’ll have some beer and wine here and order some pizzas. Lorenz has offered to do a tech seminar if anyone is interested, or even some bike tune-ups if something is nagging your bike. So the garage will be operating as well. Email meg@guelphcyclingclub.ca if you have any questions!

Happy women’s ride day! I believe women’s ride day should always be celebrated, but today is extra special because we will be meeting for a post-ride social at Fixed Gear Canteen, with some beer and pizza paid for by the club.

That being said, we’ll be starting and ending our ride at the Fixed Gear Canteen, 5 Edinburgh Rd S.

Cheers to our GCC women! I look forward to seeing you on the saddle and on the patio tonight.

This ride will run on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month. It is intended to foster a supportive and safe riding culture where women can help women grow in the sport of cycling. The speed and length of this ride may vary to suit those that show up. When there is a larger turnout, the ride may divide into two speed groups. The GCC is keen for the women’s ride to grow as more participants and ride leaders become available.

Thursday Intermediate Road Ride | July 13 6:30PM

We’re going south but who doesn’t love a southbound ride? I’m working on my route planning creativity, it’s not there yet but I expect that soon I’ll have designed us rides in the shapes of animals and objects so we can get more of those Strava kudos we’re all hoping for. Until then, we’ll be riding in a nice satisfying square… Don’t worry the ride will not be square! See you all and your two-wheeled friends later!
