Thursday MTB Ride, April 27, 6:00 pm/6:30 pm

Hey Everyone,

UPDATE:
I can’t believe I’m doing this while the sun is shining, but I am cancelling the official ride.

The radar along with the forecasted rain/lightning is too iffy. Hopefully we’ll get better weather in the future.

Joel

Weather looks a bit iffy, but hopefully we’ll get a ride in Thursday. I will post an update by 4:00 on Thursday if there is a cancellation.

Skills session @ 6:10 will focus on bike/body separation. This will help our “Heavy Feet/Light Hands” and we’ll have a limbo contest to see who has got it down!

Main Ride starts at 6:30.

Thursday MTB Ride, April 20, 6:00 pm – Likely Rained out

Hey everyone,

Thanks to those who came out last week! In the skills clinic, we covered “Heavy Feet, Light Hands” and explored what our hand position and pressure tells us about body positioning. Next session, we will look at bike/body separation and have a bike limbo contest to reinforce!

It looks like a rainout this week. If I think it will happen, I will update here before 4PM.

Joel

Thursday MTB Ride, April 13, 6:00 pm

Hi Everyone,

I am hopeful that we will get the first ride of the season on Thursday. I’m hoping at least the Pines section will be rideable. I’ll get out for a recon today and post here.

I hope to see you out there!

UPDATE: Trails are in rideable condition so we are a go!

Here is a description of the Thursday MTB rides:
The Thursday Intermediate/Advanced Ride is a technical focused ride with the goal of improving MTB skills. This a no drop ride at the Puslinch/Twin Ponds Trails. The trails offer plenty of varied terrain to work on our skills. From tight, twisty turns to steep, technical climbs, with short and tricky descents.

We meet at 6:00 at the Puslinch parking lot and do skills and drills from 6:10 to 6:30. Anyone who wishes to skip the practice session can join the group at 6:30 for the main ride. Skills sessions will focus on various MTB skills including: balance, getting over obstacles, bunnyhops, cornering, etc.

Note: This ride is co-organized with our friends at Waterloo Cycling Club
