Tues. A Hammerfest: July 28, 6:30pm

Heads up for Mur de Twiss, expect the dip then steep wall out of there at km 33. We’ll take it cool and safe, and mind the yellow line on the way up.

As Andy mentioned below, this is my last week of club rides and therefor my last Tuesday. Apparently even good things must come to an end sometime. Lets let ‘er rip.

Tues. A Hammerfest: July 21 6:30pm

I just realized there is one section of dirt road – in lieu of changing the whole route at this point, I just highlighted it on the map, at the top. Its about 1.2km long, and not that rough, so we should be ok.

Voila.
For those who did this route the first time a few weeks ago, note two small tweaks:
1. South east portion doesn’t go onto 15 anymore, too narrow and blind hills for this kind of ride, not ideal
2. Doesn’t go through Rockwood, we go through Everton to bypass some construction which has Main St. closed. 7th line towards Everton has a few potholes and bad pavement, so eyes up through that section.

Tues. A Hammerfest: June 16th 6:30pm

FYI – we won’t have a ride leader available for this one – so the B group ride leader will sound you all off from the library at 6:30pm, and then you can split into two groups as usual by Arkel & Watson. Have fun, ride safe, and see you at the TT tomorrow.

Library Meetup – Where to

You may have noticed the surge in riders participating in our regular rides this year. With so many riders now coming out for each ride, the group can easily spill out into the path of library patrons trying to enter and exit the building if we’re not paying attention.

So please group up to the right of the entrance, on the sidewalk where there are usually vacant parking spaces as well. Anywhere that’s not blatantly in the way once 50 riders show up, will do.

Thanks for your cooperation in reducing the impact we have on our meeting spot hosts.

Tues. A(.k.a: Hammerfest): June 2, `15, 6:30pm

This one’s goes out to the long time Tuesday’ers who’ve seen them all. Fresh toast right here.

Heading through Rockwood there are bound to be parked cars, etc, for that ~2km stretch, so extra caution and slowdown will occur there, but its the best way through that neck of the woods.

Also, there is the possibility of a 1km dirt section, although I’m 75% sure they’ve paved this along with some nearby roads recently. Its marked on the map. If it’s still dirt we’ll take it easy and regroup at the end.

Sunday Long: May 31, 9am

Cancelled for now – will keep an eye on weather but looks like rain is a sure thing.

Some tweaks on the route I normally take out here that hopefully make for a better ride. Note the ~2.5kms of dirt included and flagged on the map, should be worth it. These roads are little traveled so shouldn’t be too beat up:

Club kit pre-orders have arrived!

Dear Kit-Starved Membership,

The club kit is finally in after some pesky production delays, and it’s sorted and ready for pick-up at Speed River Bicycle for all those who pre-ordered. Just show up with your club card and you will be handed the latest and greatest in SRCC apparel.

Important notes for everyone:

  • Check your order contents for accuracy before you leave the shop.
  • Size substitutions: Unfortunately we cannot swap items for different sizes upon pickup, as it would cause anarchy with ensuring everyone gets what they ordered. (Post a size swap on the club classifieds if you find something doesn’t fit quite right!)
  • Overstock: There will be a selection of items for sale SOON on our website for those who didn’t manage to get a pre-order in. This will come up once the pre-orders are picked up, in roughly 2 – 3 weeks time.
  • The shop: Speed River Bicycle is graciously helping us with distribution of the kit, but as the club is responsible for all other aspects, please direct any issues or questions to bayden@guelphcyclingclub.ca.

Thanks to all for your patience, and enjoy your new duds!
