Construction in Rockwood is pretty much done. Been told there’s 30m of gravel entering town. It means we can at last hammer down 5th Line from Oustic through Rockwood (carefully), up Guelph and 4th Line climbs finishing over the Berg. It could be epic. Take a minute to study the route.

May 24 – Tuesday A Ride – Hammerfest 6:30 p.m.
It’s been seven weeks since that first chilly hammerfest out on the Guelph Lake interval circuit. Time to revisit in more favourable conditions. More daylight, more ride time, more suffering. It makes us stronger. : ) Meet at the Library.
May 17 – Tuesday A Ride (The Hammerfest) 6:30
*Note: there is a gravel section about 1km long on the northeast section of the route. Here’s a nice ride for HF enthusiasts. Length is moderate so you can save your legs for Wednesday’s first monthly TT of 2016. And everyone should come out for that because it’s fun and well, we offer it. As for saving legs on Tuesday Night Worlds, who are we kidding? A note about that: it’s not really worlds. These are open roads and we need to keep our group tight and to the right. So, until Tuesday, be safe (and keep riding safe).
May 10 – Tuesday A Ride 6:30 p.m. (The Hammerfest)
Heading west this time. Hammerfest enthusiasts will appreciate the flat parcours with the exception of the Watsonberg kicker to sort things out in the final. It’s not a race is it? No, it’s not. See ya Tuesday.
May 3 – Tuesday A Ride 6:30 p.m. (Later Start) HF
Something in a northwest direction for Tuesday’s Hammerfest enthusiasts. Note the new start time: 6:30 p.m.. If not, you will be very early. Sunset is 8:25 p.m. so bring lights just in case. We should be back in good time. Please bring your membership card if it’s your first club ride of the season. The intersection at Stone Road and Watson will mark the official end of the ride.
April 26 – Tuesday A Ride 6:00 p.m. (The Hammerfest)
We’ll call this 6th Line Direct. The ride will shoot down to Campbellville, allow for some escapism on the ascent – or escapees – and straight back along 20th, over the berg, and boom, another one in the books. It might rain Tuesday so keep your eyes glued to your TV set. A call will be made by 5:00 p.m.
Sunday Combined A/B Ride – P2A Weekend – April 24 11:00 a.m.
Weather is looking great for racing and riding all weekend! For the combined ride, we’ll take a circuit that allows options back to town for those desiring a shorter ride. Although it’s not marked on the route, there will be a refuel stop in Fergus. Good luck to those riding the local legendary Paris to Ancaster race.
April 12 – Tuesday A Ride 6:00 p.m. (The Hammerfest)
Hammerfest enthusiasts will appreciate this simple route over a moderate, early-season distance. Weather bodes well or definitely better than last week. Lights are good, they make you visible.
April 5 – Tuesday A Ride 6:00 p.m. (The Hammerfest)
Hammerfest enthusiasts will meet at the library at 6:00pm and head out to the Guelph Lake interval loop course. This will give anyone a chance to bail if conditions are not to their liking. We do a few laps and call it a beginning. Might be cancelled but probably not.
Sunday combined ride | October 18th, 11am start
Rider turnout has been dwindling, so once again running a single ‘take-all-comers’ ride this Sunday. The planned route offers several short-cut options for those not keen on the full 82k, and a hot beverage stop to counter the cool temps. The outlook is not great, but we’ll see how it evolves and I’ll post a ‘go/no-go’ by 10am Sunday morning.
Aug 25th Tuesday A Hammerfest 6:00 PM
Note the new earlier start time and let’s have some fun.
Tuesday A Hammerfest – August 18 6:30pm
Guelph Lake loops always a good time. Bring your lights. See you at 6:30. If the lightning starts we can hightail it.
Sunday Long Ride to Dundas – 9:00 AM August 16
A fairly long, challenging route with a good dose of climbing. Rest stop at the Detour Cafe in Dundas.
Tuesday A Hammerfest Aug 11th | 6:30pm
Very easy to follow route for Tuesday.
Thursday A/B Rides
This is a pleasant route. A Group, rip it up. B Group will chug along at 31 km/h. If on front, ride the uphills steady and pedal on the downhills for a smooth ride.
Sunday Long Ride to Dundas
Ride is cancelled. Radar shows rain continuing for the next few hours. Looks like things will clear later so enjoy a ride then.
