Sunday, 8:00 am Sept. 1 – B Ride

This ride takes us to St. George for a rest stop then a little more south then east and finally north toward home. There is a 60% chance of showers but that could and probably will change. Update: There is a slight alteration to the route to avoid construction coming back into Guelph. Instead of turning onto Concession 2 we will take Concession 1 over to Leslie Rd and up Victoria. Very minor. Weather looks great with a 30% POP.

Sunday B Ride 11:00am April 28

This moderate route offers plenty of shortcuts back to town if so desired and minimal climbing. There is a rest stop in Fergus at a convenience store. Weather is not looking promising so look back here for the go/no-go call on Sunday no later than 10:00am. Good luck to racers at P2A!!

Tuesday A Ride | Aug 14, 6:30pm

It looks like this will be the last chance to head over to 6th Line based on available daylight. If you have been riding a lot lately your tires may be getting worn. It’s a good idea to inspect them closely for any cracks or bulges and replace if necessary.

Tuesday A Ride | July 31, 6:30pm

We face the possibility of thunder storms again tomorrow and, as usual, the call will be posted at 5:00pm. If there is a t-storm warning on Weather Network the ride will be cancelled. However, weather in our immediate vicinity may be fine and an unofficial group may show up to ride. Use your own judgment and do what feels right for you.

Tuesday Hammerfest | July 24, 6:30 pm

RIDE CANCELLED: T-storm warnings and radar indicate there is some activity heading our way. Ride at your own risk. It might rain tomorrow but it might not. So we’ll plan to head out to the familiar 8km square north of Guelph Lake for some challenging yet invigorating intervals (4-5). Usually it’s 2 squad pursuit depending on the numbers.

Tuesday A Ride \\ July 10, 6:30 pm

This is Megaloops. The idea is to ride the 21km (mega)loop twice and head for home. For fun, in the past, we would split the group in two at Arkell and send one squad off 30 seconds ahead of the other. One group tries to catch while the other attempts to stay away until the end. It encourages teamwork. You could think of it as a TTT pursuit. They’re doing it at le Tour this year so why not? A rotating paceline works best for this. Come to the front when you are able, if not rest up. If you do rest up don’t pull through like gangbusters and gap the man (or lady) on front. Doesn’t help the cause. Bring a road bike, of course. Be safe, don’t overlap wheels.

Tuesday A Ride | June 19, 6:30 pm

You knew it was coming, right? Here it is, the much anticipated Rattlesnake, 6th Line Hammerfest combo-pack. We need a late sunset because it’s a long one and it’s got some grades. After the climb, we usually regroup for high fives in the Rattlesnake parking lot. So let’s continue the tradition. Then it’s all out aggression to the finish. Be careful on the descent. And don’t forget to have fun!

Tuesday A Hammerfest – June 12, 6:30 pm

Kind of like Thursday’s ride but a little longer with some added features. Should get the pulse rate up. For an extended period. But ya, looking like a beautiful night with perhaps a lingering east wind. Don’t miss it. Or do, it’s fine, suit yourself.
