Annual Meeting – 2022
To be held online Thursday, December 1 at 8 PM.
You must be a current 2022 GCC member to attend the Annual Meeting (AM – formerly AGM).
If you wish to attend, please indicate your intention by Tuesday November 29 by signing up here. A link to the meeting, the agenda, 2021 AGM minutes and the 2021 financial statement will be emailed to those who have registered on November 30.
If you wish to nominate yourself or someone else to a Board of Directors position, please email your nomination here by Friday November 25. Please use “Board Nomination” in the subject line of your email. Nominations will be announced on Monday November 28.
Proxy forms are available upon request for those unable to attend the AGM but still wanting to cast a vote. You can request a proxy form here. Completed proxy forms must be returned to that same email address or the proxyholder by Tuesday November 29.
In addition to the usual AM business, we will be voting on updates to comply with changes in the Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations Act with the following (1) GCC By-laws and (2) a special resolution to set the number of Directors. These documents can be viewed below.
Finally, just to remind you all – if you aren’t interested or able to be on the Board, but still want to be involved in helping and developing the club, there are many opportunities. Just reach out to us and let us know what your interests are. And if you can’t attend this meeting, but have ideas and thoughts you want to share about the club, let us know – you can email any of us anytime through the club website.
We hope to see you there!
Annual Meeting Documents
We are required to update our existing by-laws to comply with changes in the new Ontario Not-For-Profit Act (ONCA) passed in 2021. Here are the previous GCC By-laws with updates in red. It should also be noted that another change introduced with ONCA is that the AGM or ‘Annual General Meeting’ will now be known as an AM or ‘Annual Meeting’.
ONCA also dictates that the number of board members must be set in a special resolution. GCC currently has, and will maintain, seven (7) board members. Here is the Special Resolution.
